Sandbanks to Swanage Ferry Biannual Refurbishment
We returned back on to the Sandbanks to Swanage Chain Ferry. This time it is for the biannual refurbishment. During this refurbishment, the team:
- Installed new capacitance level sensors on the hydraulic oil tanks to alarm against low oil levels, thus avoiding costly down time.
- Installed and commissioned Parker I-count Oil particle contamination monitor on each hydraulic pump, to give warning against degrading oil quality.
- Re-wired and tidied up the existing drive panel and alarm panel, including all 24 of the relays within the drive panel.
- Created new drawings and a cable list for the existing drive panel and alarm panel.
- Re-wired and upgraded the controls in both the North and South control cabins.
- Programmed the Pro-Faces HMIs to act as alarm monitors, graphical representation of Oil ISO levels from I-Count units, act as process indicators to monitor Oil temperature, pressure and alarm set points.
